Trainer Bio

My first experience with Yoga was in the summer of 2005. A friend invited me to join her for a 60-minute Hot Yoga class.  As I stepped in to the then unfamiliar environment of a heated studio, I thought what am I doing? In hindsight, it was the best thing I ever did… Now, I am a Certified Baptiste Yoga Instructor.

After moving to Oakville, Ontario in 2007, I found a Yoga studio nearby and began attending classes, to supplement my running routine and find a community of like-minded individuals. After a few weeks of practice not only did my long distance running feel lighter and easier, that I found relief from a long history of lower back pain and less frequency in migraine attacks. The studio became my second home and my desire to share yoga with others grew.  Shortly thereafter, I attended my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program.

I have had a desire to strengthen my practice and build on my understanding of Yoga. Personal interest has lead me to several workshops and continued training, including Yoga for Athletes, Prenatal Yoga and more than 300 hours with Baron Baptiste.

With a background in gymnastics, I was drawn to explore the benefits of yoga on athletic performance.  I connected to Baron Baptiste’s background of working with professional athletes and was drawn to explore the power of his teachings more deeply.  I find the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga style’s accessibility for everybody to be truly empowering, regardless of individual’s background or experience.

I am excited to continue my journey through the practice of Yoga, and am honoured to be in the company of others who are up to something big!
