Dave Calzi

Trainer Bio

Dave Calzi, a native of Buffalo, New York, made his way to the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1979 to attend the University of Kentucky. He ran cross country and track at UK and after graduating in 1983 with a degree in Accounting, he began a career in public accounting, first joining Arthur Andersen and then, in 2002, EY. During the course of his career, Dave served as the managing partner of EY’s Kentucky practice and provided assurance and advisory services to many large publicly held and private clients in a number of industry sectors.
Dave’s commitment to his Community has focused on all things related to education especially for those underserved and in further need of access. He presently serves on a number of boards including the University of Kentucky’s Gatton School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board, advisor to and board member of Endeavor Louisville, the Community Foundation of Louisville, Evolve 502 Promise Scholarship and Bellarmine University.
Dave has previously served on the boards of Greater Louisville Inc., Stage One Family Theatre, Junior Achievement, the Muhammad Ali Center, and the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, he was Chair of the Catholic Education Foundation, Fund for the Arts, Louisville Ballet, Hosparus, GLI Business Leaders for Education, the Kentucky Society of CPA’s Educational Foundation, and chaired the Metro United Way’s 1999 campaign.

Dave found yoga later in life thru his wife Jamie and daughters Emily and Maddie.  He is embracing all aspects of JIP and Baptiste Yoga and looks forward to the wonderful journey of creation that lays ahead.
