Attending Baptiste programs has ignited in me a strong desire to be a Leader. Since I began the certification process I have committed to creating Root Down, a Baptiste Power Yoga Community and am set to open this March in Hartford, CT! The Baptiste Institute has provided for me, the community I needed to feel supported and inspired. I’m amazed by my own growth as well as the growth of all the life-long friends I have made in program. I can’t wait to see what comes next for all of us!

The committed platform to refine and up level myself as a teacher, the deep community of support, and the space that gives me the opportunity to be for people and get up to something bigger than myself always….this is why being a Baptiste Power Yoga Certified Teacher is important to me. The work of the Institute holds yoga true to its philosophy, its foundational principles and physicality in a world that is rapidly changing the industry. I am anchored and aligned and equally challenged to step further out on my edge every time I tap into the source that is the Baptiste Methodology.

One of my greatest accomplishments is being a Baptiste Power Yoga Certified teacher. I started practicing Baptiste Power Yoga in 2010, and it transformed my life. It is has been through practicing and teaching that I have received and learned the tools to create the life that I want, and to be open to discovering new possibilities. I found purpose in sharing Baptiste Power Yoga with others, and it led me to open Shakti Power Yoga, a Baptiste affiliate studio, with my sister in

As a Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Certified Teacher I am part of something bigger than myself and our yoga community in Savannah, Georgia. The Baptiste organization trains and inspires teachers worldwide and provides a platform for connecting and sharing with each other about how to bring what we love to the most people, in the most powerful way. We are in support of each other’s greatness and work together as a community to spread the love. When I am feeling stale or uninspired in my own teaching, I know that there is a source I can go to for inspiration and support. Quite simply – we are better together!

Why being a Baptiste Power Yoga certified teacher is important to me can be summed up in three words – community, growth, empowerment.
Community – it is like no other community I’ve been apart of. Full of support, connection and love. That we all want everyone to be that best version of themselves.
Growth – the personal and professional growth from the methodology has given me the tools to take the action on living out my dreams. Opening a yoga studio and to create programs and lead other leaders!
Empowerment- boom; this one is beyond measure and it continues to expand in me daily. Empowered to continue to be in the work and from that space I can support others. With myself being empowered leaves others empowered. With one last word- gratitude!

The biggest reason that being a Baptiste Certified Teacher is important to me is the authentic connection I have found with my personal practice and my ability to deliver the same to my students. As a Baptiste Certified Teacher I am not asked to be someone else but rather to be the highest expression of myself possible. This is the self I deliver to my students. This is what I am able to encourage in them as well. Baptiste Yoga is life transformed.

My favorite part about Baptiste Yoga is that it’s not just a practice that works, it’s a practice that matters. As a Baptiste Power Yoga Certified Teacher, I have a unique opportunity to be of impact and make a difference. I have the tools to lead yogis into physicalness and possibility, and leave them up to something bigger than themselves on the mat and off. Training with the Baptiste Institute gave me access to coming from a place of whole and complete and seeing others in that same way. This practice brought me back to life, and I’m committed to sharing that gift with everyone I meet.

Tier 3 - Certified Baptiste Power Yoga Influencers
The pathway to becoming a Baptiste Yoga Certified Teacher has connected me into a global support community. I am able to ask for, and receive constructive feedback that I can put into practice. Through attending Level One and Level Two Programs, I have been trained in the essential language of Baptiste Yoga. These tools show up in my teaching as actionable, specific point-to-point asana cueing as well as creating a space for students to discover the poses in their own bodies.

What I love most about the Baptiste community is the commitment to growing people and helping them lead meaningful lives. Every week, I teach yoga to the men at the Davidson County prison in Nashville and I witness how this practice inspiring change from the inside out. Not only is Baptiste Yoga shaping the inmates’ physical and mental well-being, but it’s also creating connection and community and is a tool for healing. The positive effects of yoga are working in a place that is seemingly dismal where most inmates are resigned and cynical. Yet every week, I witness a shift, not just physically, but in their mindset, believing they are seen and appreciated and deserving of new opportunities.
This type of story and work isn’t unique to the Nashville prison system, but is shared by leaders across the Baptiste yoga community. Knowing I am part of something greater than myself and part of a global community that supports people in discovering their purpose and leading fuller lives is why I love teaching Baptiste Yoga and choose to a Baptiste Power Yoga certified teacher.

I love teaching JIP because it is physically challenging, clear and adaptable. The essential language that we use helps me and my students stay focused on breath and with our drishtis set.
Even though we’re teaching a set sequence, I feel very autonomous because I teach JIP from my own True North, and that can be slightly different every time I step into the practice room – I teach from where I’m at, and I share myself in that way – some days my focus is on Igniting and I get through all eight poses; some days I feel like Opening feels right, and I linger a bit more there. Since each section of JIP has an intention, I push my students outside of their comfort zone, in that specific area, through my essential language and firm assists.
I have done JIP a thousand times myself, and I know that the sections can feel different every time. I love experiencing that both as a teacher and as a student. JIP awakens my soul and my energy, and I love witnessing that in my students. The challenging nature of the practice and its accessibility is what opens the door to breakthroughs, and I never experienced this in any other yoga practice!

Being a Baptiste Power Yoga Certified Teacher is important to me because it allows me to be of service to people I know and don’t know yet. Having been surrounded by Certified Teachers in my yoga journey, they provided me with the realization that I have within me everything that I already need. This practice cleared the misconceptions I had of who I was, and allowed me to understand my purpose. I became Certified to have the tools to provide this knowledge to others through the practice of Baptiste Power Yoga.
