A listener sent in a question to the Disrupting the Drift podcast, and it sparked an important conversation:
When it comes to achieving your goals, what’s more important… consistency or intensity?
It’s a great question, and one that deserves attention.
Without intensity, you might lack the drive to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
And without consistency, you risk burning too hot and then burning out altogether.
So which is the most important ingredient to success? Click below to find out:
Intensity can be a good thing. It’s in the intense act of breaking out of a chrysalis that a butterfly’s wings develop the strength to fly.
And yet you can’t fight at high intensity for very long… or you’ll kill yourself with the effort.
Maintaining a high level of intensity will quickly lead to imbalance, exhaustion, and burnout… which will derail you and keep you from reaching your goals.
In the end, if you had to choose between intensity and consistency, it’s the daily discipline of moving forward even with the smallest steps that gets you to your goal.
Ignite your journey with passion… and then save that passion for when it really counts.
In the meantime, foster consistent forward momentum and keep taking those small steps…
…and before you know it, you’ll arrive at your goal.
Put it into practice: What’s one small step you can take this week that will bring you closer to your dream? Write it down and then do it.
If you do the same thing next week… and the week after… you’ll build the consistency you need to get you where you want to go!
