Trainer Bio

Since childhood I have always loved moving my body. Growing up I was a gymnast, dancer, and runner. As an adult I continued running and enjoyed signing up for various runs ranging from 5Ks to half marathons. In 2012 I experienced a knee injury that resulted from running. During my recovery from knee surgery, I discovered Baptiste Yoga. While the practice of yoga initially started as a form of physical exercise for me, it has grown into much more than that. The focus, presence, and patience I learned (and continue to learn) on my mat through the physical practice began (and continues) to serve me well off the mat as a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and middle school teacher. In early 2015 I took a weekend intensive yoga teacher training at Ignite. In the summers of 2015 and 2016, I traveled to New York for trainings through the Baptiste Yoga Institute. I have continued to learn through my practice and growth at Ignite Power Yoga and through Baptiste Yoga Institute trainings to improve my ability to share this practice both with adults at Ignite and with children and teens. My dedication to share stems from the gifts of gratitude and equanimity that I have received from this yoga practice.
